The MSF Foundation created ASTapp, an application to combat the spread of antimicrobial resistance and ensure equal access to correct diagnosis worldwide.
The MSF Foundation has developed ASTapp at the initiative of Amin Madoui, Research Scientist at UMR 8030 Genoscope Metabolic Genomics, CEA/CNRS/Univ Evry and of Nada Malou, microbiologist expert at Médecins Sans Frontières. This project was conducted in collaboration with Pr. Christophe Ambroise ofLaboratoire de Mathématiques et Modélisation (LaMME) of the University of Evry. This collaboration allowed us to have access to premises and servers essential to the development of the project. Prof. Christophe Ambroise also provided us with the skills and expertise of LaMME engineers and participated in the supervision of the person in charge of the development of the application, Marco Pascucci. We also worked in collaboration with Dr. Guilhem Royer from the laboratory of Bacteriology and Hospital Hygiene of the CHU Henri Mondor in Créteil which allowed us to benefit from a large diversity of antibiogram photos accompanied by a microbiological expertise.
