Why create a sheltered Foundation?

You are familiar with MSF, a major international player in emergency humanitarian medical aid for more than 50 years, and with its insistence on responsiveness, quality of care and effectiveness. Would you like to take your commitment further, contribute your experience, participate in the construction of the MSF Foundation’s projects and gauge their impact over time by way of frequent and totally transparent reports?

The MSF Foundation allows you to use your skills and implement the innovative projects you wish to sponsor. Together, we will be able to imagine and develop the innovations which, tomorrow, will serve the most neglected patients.

What assistance is provided?

The MSF Foundation assists you in:

  • Designing the themes which are right for you and which meet structural needs for humanitarian aid workers’ actions in the field.
  • Creation, governance and management of your foundation.
  • Monitoring of the projects which you finance.
  • Setting up meetings with our field workers, our partners and other philanthropists who support our projects.

Constructing your project with the MSF Foundation

To begin with, we listen to your family and professional history to understand your background. We learn to identify your expectations and your desired level of commitment. 

Together, we then determine the areas of work to which you wish to commit yourself. To refine and consolidate your project, we organise discussions with our field officers, project leaders and partners.

Measuring the impact of your project

The MSF Foundation has considerable expertise in evaluating and measuring the impact of projects. Built up over the years in MSF’s various fields of intervention, this expertise is placed at your foundation’s disposal. It allows your project to be guided and developed to optimise its effectiveness.

The teams in the Centre for Reflection on Humanitarian Action and Knowledge (CRASH) can involve themselves in the monitoring and evaluation of your project if necessary.
