COOKIE POLICY
Thus, when you visit our sites, information concerning the browsing of your device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) on our sites may be recorded in “Cookie” files in your browser and consequently on your device.
In addition, we may purchase advertising space directly or via our service providers (communication agencies or advertising networks) in order to promote our activities on third party sites or applications, by means of advertising contents (texts, graphics, animations, videos, etc.) broadcast by these sites or applications.
Only the issuer of a cookie may read or change information contained in the cookie concerned.
We use various cookies on our sites to improve their interactivity with your expectations and our services.
1. What is a “cookie”?
A “cookie” is a text file stored on the hard disk of your device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) via your browser software when you consult an online service.
There are several categories of cookies and we can distinguish four main types:
1.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are necessary for the operation of the website and cannot be disabled in our systems. They are usually generated in response to actions you have performed which constitute a request for services, such as definition of your privacy preferences, connection or filling out of forms. You can configure your browser to block or inform you of the existence of these cookies, but certain parts of the website may be affected. These cookies do not store any personal identification information
1.2 Performance (audience measurement) cookies
These cookies allow us to determine the number of visits and the sources of the traffic, in order to measure and improve the performances of our website. They also help us to identify the most and least frequently visited pages and evaluate how visitors navigate on the website. All the data collected by these cookies are aggregated and therefore anonymised. If you do not accept these cookies, we will not be informed of your visit to our site.
1.3 Functionality cookies
These cookies allow the functionalities of the website to be improved and personalised. They can be activated by our teams, or by third parties whose services are used on the pages of our website. If you do not accept these cookies, some or all of these services may not function correctly.
1.4 Targeted advertising
These cookies may be installed in our website by our advertising partners. They can be used by these companies to establish a profile of your interests and present appropriate advertisements to you on other websites. They do not directly store personal data, but are based on the unique identification of your browser and your Internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, your advertising will be less targeted.
2. How do we use cookies?
2.1 Cookies issued by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and the MSF Foundation on their sites
When you visit our site, depending on your preferences and browser settings, we may install “technical” cookies on your device in order to recognise your device’s browser throughout the period of validity of the cookie concerned.
These cookies will enable us to:
1. Compile statistics and measure the traffic volume and use of the various elements of our website (sections and contents visited, click streams) in order to improve it;
2. Adapt our site’s presentation to your device’s display preferences (language used, display resolution, operating system used, etc.) when you visit our website;
3. Store information concerning a form that you have filled out on our site (subscription or access to your donor space) or concerning products, services or information you have chosen on our site (service and basket);
4. Allow you to access reserved and personal areas of our site, such as your donor space, based on credentials;
5. Implement security measures, for example when you are asked to log in to a service or content again after a certain period of time.
2.2 Cookies issued by third parties on the websites of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and the MSF Foundation
We deploy third party cookies and trackers communicated by our partners on our websites which, during the period of validity of these cookies and trackers, will enable us to:
1. Compile traffic and use statistics for the various pages of our sites;
2. Re-target our Internet visitors in campaigns to appeal to public generosity and support our actions, and evaluate the performance of these campaigns;
3. Recognise the device during subsequent browsing on any other site or service on which these advertisers or third parties also issue cookies and, if necessary, adapt these third party sites and services or the advertisements they present.
The issue and use of cookies by these third parties are subject to the privacy policies of these third parties. You can at any time obtain a list of these third parties and configure the cookies, per type of cookies, by going to the preference centre.
On our websites we use audience measurement cookies which are not subject to consent. These are listed in our cookie consent module in the “strictly necessary cookies” category.
3. In practice
3.1 Configuring your cookie settings
On your first visit to the MSF Foundation’s website HYPERLINK "https://www.msf.fr/" \hhttps://fondation.msf.fr/, a banner informs you of the use of cookie technology and allows you to accept or reject cookies or configure them.
You can at any time change your settings to accept or reject cookies by clicking on the button at the bottom left of each page.
Be aware that the cookie settings will affect your navigation.
If you have accepted the recording of cookies in your device, the cookies integrated in the pages and contents you have consulted may be stored temporarily in a dedicated space in your device. They can be read there only by their issuer.
3.2 Rejecting cookies
If you reject the cookies we issue, or if you delete those we have recorded on your device, certain functions of the website might be disabled. You can change the settings at any time.
Rejecting cookies means it is no longer possible to monitor your navigation and adapt the contents presented to your centres of interest. The advertisements presented to you will then no longer be personalised to your requirements.
3.3 If you share your device with other people
The contents presented using cookie technology are based on the device and not on the person to whom the cookie has been issued. Consequently, these contents will not differ from one user to another on the same device.
3.4 Cookie storage period
The maximum period of storage of a cookie stored on your browser is 13 months. At the end of this 13-month period, the cookie is erased.
We also store the cookie settings you have chosen for 6 months, after which the cookie banner will be presented to you again to allow you to accept or reject cookies again.
