Aitana Juan Giner, epidemiologist at Epicentre and coordinator of the yellow fever vaccine study funded by the MSF Foundation, presents the challenges and initial results of her research published in The Lanceton January 9, 2021. In particular, it confirms that split doses of vaccine offer the same protection as a full dose, even one year after vaccination. These results open up exceptional prospects in the fight against this disease, which still kills a large number of people and is experiencing a serious shortage of vaccines.
