Ebola epidemics, multi-resistant bacterial infections, cutting-edge surgery… in every operational context MSF teams are confronted with diverse and complex problems. To support them to develop humanitarian practice, improve effectiveness and offer the best quality care to the most vulnerable, the MSF Foundation has identified two priority areas: supporting innovation and developing the skills of MSF staff.

Tax implications of your donation
The MSF Foundation is a public utility foundation, which means donating is particularly tax efficient for your income tax.
If you are subject to income tax in France, 66% of your donation is deductable up to an equivalent of 20% of your taxable income. If you are subject to IFI, 75% of your donation can be deducted up to a limit of €50,000.
As from January 2019, income tax will be deducted directly from pay (at source) by employers, pension funds, the Job Centre (Pôle Emploi) or the tax office.
The MSF Foundation is a public utility foundation authorised to collect donations under the French fiscal package of 2007 (Labour, Employment and Purchasing Power Act or TEPA). If you are liable for the IFI, you can conjugate tax efficiency and generosity. When you support the MSF Foundation’s projects, you can deduct 75% of your donation from your tax liability up to a limit of €50,000.

How do I donate shares?
If you wish to donate shares, simply contact Catherine Béchereau, the MSF Foundation donor advisor. Working with you, she will look at the best way in which you can achieve your philanthropic goals while enjoying the most advantageous tax deductions.
All you will need to do then is to transfer your donation to the MSF Foundation account. As soon as we receive the shares, we will issue you with a tax receipt based on the amount, and will rapidly sell the shares to fund our projects.
